Linda and Hal, Wayne and Leslie...and the dog kids!

10:30 am we left our campsites and did a 40 mile (one way) run down the beach.  What a beautiful day with very sweet people.  The tide was a bit high ( about 10 minutes too late on our parts) so we sat on the beach for a couple hours and waited until we could get around the point.  So warm and pretty.  What a sight.

Wayne thought it would be nice if I could take home a big pile of fresh sea salt... didn't know he was packing a hatchet...hmmmm...salt we gathered is drying in the camper.  It dried nicely and we will try it.  They use it all the time.  Also pictures the pink shells we find on the beach.  I haven't been able to find them in a book, not sure what kind they are.

Linda said to Hal, "I do not think this is the beach.  I think it is a sandbar."  Yep it was, just that quick.

After a snapped winch and a few different types of pulling events we were free again.  And yes, that is the moon coming up over the dune.

Next night was dinner... thank you.  Carlos, a local man, cooking with Hal.

Trying to keep the utility trailer nice just isn't easy.  These two scratches go the entire length of the trailer.  While driving through customs our choice was line #5 or #7.  If you have a trailer do not use line # 7, that was our choice.  The customs officer would not let us get out of our truck to hold the stop sign, out a little...his comment was, we did it to ourselves...what a jerk... the other side of the trailer was so close you would have a difficult time sliding a piece of paper between the pole and the trailer wheel well.  When we commented on the fact they need wider lanes he said we do #6...its out of order right now....???? really????

I give up.  Bought a sign that says trailer trash.  I think it is going on the out side not inside.

Crossing the US Mexican Border...

Shorty was kind enough to escort us to ElGolfo Santa Clara, Sonora.  We didn't take the toll road, so going through the valley we saw many beautiful sites and some very simple living conditions.  Broccoli, romaine and cotton were growing.  Irrigation canals and beautiful views of the BaJa mountains across the Sea of Cortez, fill our eyes for about 60 miles.

Pat and Dean are a little crazy, funny...pictured below.  Should have had a video for this one.  It took a few men to rock them free.

Gracie had to watch where she walked up in the dunes.  These thorns were in a few places.

It would probably be correct to assume that this monument will be taken down.  The light house I posted last year near this spot was taken down the day we went down the beach all day.  Light house standing when we left and light house gone when we came back.

If you hadn't noticed, the large picture above these small pictures, has the monument pictured from below on the beach.

If there is discourse in the world... it is difficult to see here threw the natural beauty that surrounds this area.  But, with that thought, maybe we should take a back hoe down here and clean up areas that are victim to litter.  It seems as if the Mexican people must break glass on the beach; at which I have found zero sea glass.  Someone needs to explain that to me.

The ride was through the dump (sand dunes) for a long ways...such a shame.  Very stinky too because of a lot of fish.  Below a picture of todays agates and petrified wood.

These two pictures are a good example of how much dust could be generated when a few ATVs decide they do not want to drive a little slower.😩

Left:  Our solar refrigerator/freezer purchase we have wanted forever...pays to wait until the new models come out so the price tag goes down, a little. 🤨  ...our new flag.

Our new camp site had very interesting scenery. Gold Nugget Road 8 miles east of Quartzsite.
Picture
Our only neighboring camper is pictured on the far left below.  If you camp on this road you might want to plan to wake up early.  There was double trailer 30 wheelers traveling down Gold Nugget Road to the gravel pit at sun rise.  And, also, they travel in convoys of  5 at a time.😱

Back to Yuma in the morning. It was a good year at Quartzsite, 2020.  News starting to talk about the Corona Virus in the US.

The first day here we had Todd, Bob's nephew,  come from Alaska to go exploring with.  What a wonderful visit.   Finishing with dinner and good friends Gay and Randy joining us. It pays to pack a few extra burgers.

Riding around in the side by side you can run across many ruins of this nature...so cool.  I can not imagine a primitive life in this brutal atmosphere.

    About  Us

After my husbands widow maker heart attack in 2004, the doctor said just relax and enjoy life for a while. So it happened: the 43' NewMar Mountain Aire coach was purchased and the house sold....eventually. Relaxing? Not always! We are truly blessed to spend this time together... and with friends.

    Up Date:

September 2015 now traveling with Ford F350diesel dually and Host Mammoth Truck Camper.
