4 o'clock was cocktail hour at the Baño, yes it's the bathroom...with a very nice porch.

This night we had clams bought in town, boiling in the big pot.  Thank you!
Gracie was sentenced to the golf cart so she wouldn't bug everyone.  She found it better than staying at home alone.  To the right is Mike's Great Dane, Marly.
The regular yearly visitors at the RV park were very friendly and opened up all activities to us.

On Tuesday we rode along with an out reach program.  In-need residents receive food and various donated items.

All day, every day, fishing boats like this are put in and pulled out of the water, on the beach in front of us.

What's a day in an RV without a few repairs?  This tray is starting to remind me of a morgue!  I slide him in and slide him out!

Mike and Peggy were nice enough to loan us a side by side,  ATV so we were able to go with the group down the beach 20+ miles one way!  The day was absolutely beautiful.  The shells we collected were shells I have not seen before.

The restaurant el'Capitan was cooking fresh clams and listening to Alan Jackson's gospel music.  It was Sunday.

Thank you to Gay and Randy for showing us the in's and out's of ElGolfo before you went back to Yuma.  Thanks to their 4x4 we were able to ride about 20 miles down the beach.  The word beautiful, can describe the coast of the Sea of Cortez. Much garbage is seen every where; which is a shame.  The further away from town you go, the nicer and cleaner the beach gets.  Still very cool down here 48-60 degrees for about 5 days before it warmed up.  Notice the snow on the mountains in the back ground.  This snow was highly unusual.

If you like the smell of burro dung and quirky little cities, Oatman is for you.  Wild burros walk up and down the main street doing just about every thing you can think of.  The restaurant here has a very good small menu.  We had the fry bread cilantro chicken barbecue special, and it was very tasty.

This delightful man is an American Indian.  His name is Yellowhammer and he is a "good medicine man".  He said he was available and I could come home with him if I wanted to.  He is making earrings in his store called Yellowhammer's Place.... He communicated to us that showers are free in the middle of the store because his roof leaks...:)  :)  :)

Lake Havasu RV Park was very pleasant. The community was welcoming and enjoyable in everything we did here.  Lots were tolerable, pool & hot tub amazing and shuffle board interesting, we never saw pucks float like that.

I want some of the hot dog roasters.  They work great.

This golf coarse was in-between the mountain and desert.  It is a little difficult to see here.  Everything you see here that is not green is rock.

Below:  This slope we are about to defend is about 300 feet high.  It doesn't look like it on the picture.

Stopped to talk with a couple people camped on the river also and all three of their dogs hopped on the golf cart for a ride!  It was so funny and cute.

As we skip around the west we find ourselves back at Lake Havasu for the                                                                               "Pyro Party"

Above the lighthouse pictures, is a panoramic view of Lake Havasu from the state park.  Photographed in the rain at 42 degrees, high wind, and we are still having a fun adventure.   Lake Havasu has numerous mini lighthouses scattered all around the lake.  Many are replicas from the Great Lake Region.

Every year in Lake Havasu, and at Sara Park the Western Pyro technic people set up their displays for buyers to see.  Fireworks start on Wednesday and run until Sunday Evening.  They begin at dusk and continue until 10-11pm.  RV's Park in the surrounding BLM lands and it is crazy busy with campers in all available spots off the road and on the sides of the hills.  4x4's and camp fires everywhere.  RV's of all kinds are seen.  Some are funkier than others and plenty of interesting people.  I have now learned, that I do not like fat black labs that hid under creepy trailers and show their teeth and pretend to attack.

This winter was extremely cold and it was a rare site, to wake in the morning and see snow on the mountain, in Lake Havasu!  Cold was between 45-55 degrees, with high winds most days.  Even with the many disappointing weather situations, the displays were a sight to see and we were happy to meet with new friends and fellow travelers from Mexico to experience it. Below is a picture of where we were parked, the rodeo grounds and surrounding areas.  The following  pictures, in no way, give you a clear example of the crazy unique experience we had.

We could see the higher fireworks from our camper.  And of course Gay and Randy took their Ranger so we could explore.  We had a picnic out in the rocks!  Driving down the wash bed is definitely bumpy!
Picture
A pellet oven was very interesting. They were heating pizza.
Gracie needed a warm up so she squeezed into her bed when it was filled with toys.

These are various pictures of the rodeo grounds where our friends were staying.  Notice the fire pit is an old washing machine drum on a pole and plow disc for a stand.  There is specific restrictions about having fires touching the ground.  We had the thing stoked to the max with wet wood; which Randy fired up with his Boy Scout juice (lighter fluid).

Craggy Wash BLM land...wow I had 4 bars on my phone...we can stay here in the future!  We have learned not to pull out the rug, set up the lawn chairs and table before we check the signals of the phone and satellite reception.  I love to camp on the BLM lands and be in touch with the world...I always loved contrast in my art and I need this contrast in BLM to survive happily.

    About  Us

After my husbands widow maker heart attack in 2004, the doctor said just relax and enjoy life for a while. So it happened: the 43' NewMar Mountain Aire coach was purchased and the house sold....eventually. Relaxing? Not always! We are truly blessed to spend this time together... and with friends.

    Up Date:

September 2015 now traveling with Ford F350diesel dually and Host Mammoth Truck Camper.
