Below is a whale that is annoyed. They make this splash if the boats get too close. Possible this is a Fin whale. Cola! Cola! Cola! | The pictures are listed as we saw them from top right column down. Left column same. Below is the Humpback. Cola! Cola! ... Mexican for Tail! Tail! This is the tail and top fin, of the Humpback whale. Below is a Blue Whale. Tap on this picture above and below...see the man on the paddle board? Yikes! I wouldn't what to be him. This whale was huge and swimming directly to him. Below is a Fin Whale. |
We left during sun rise this morning and it was beautiful with the sun coming up over the bay. We saw Blue, Humpback and Fin whales that morning. The pictures were difficult to say for sure which was which, so my labels may be off slightly. The Blue whales are the largest of all mammals. The Blues have a small top fin and the Fin whales have the larger top fin. The Humpbacks just have bumps on their lower back spine. These types of whales typically are more illusive and not necessarily friendly. Our first views that morning were on the horizon with 4 spouts visible at one time. Below is an upper view of the bay on a different day. Also a new name for Freddie is photo bomb Freddie! Notice the wristbands? The government requires a permit to whale watch...it is closely watched...that is a good thing.

Mission San Javier Mission in the Sierra de La Gigantic, following was a farm lunchThis Ranch was called the Cheese Factory
To make goat cheese you need goat milk...need I say more? The raw milk was placed in the wash tub then covered. I believe next, it was left to ferment into curd and it was at this point she strained the extra liquid off the curds then placed curds in a rag bag squeezing the liquid out more. The bag was placed under the white plastic cover with a large square rock placed on top for weight. The overhead shelf held the cheese after the pressing stage was done. At this stage on the shelf it was left to hardened slightly. We ate this cheese at our following stop where lunch was served. Given the American in me and the fact that the FDA or food inspectors were not present I was a little creeped out eating it; with that I will say it was very white, the flavor was mild, the texture was quite soft and the taste very good. The whole experience was amazing and mind altering...minus the dog. ...lunch at the ranch followed and is on the next post.
After breakfast Bob sat on the bench reading while I did a little blanket shopping. Very relaxing until we realized back at the campsite that he lost his wallet and it most likely was on the bench. After rushing back to town all was good and the wallet was found...on the bench.
We toured with Marios Whale watching tour company and stayed in the Malattimo RV park and had dinner. What we experience here in this lagoon was nothing short of a miracle. Words can not even come close to what we witnessed and experienced with the wonderful people of our caravan and our outstanding wagon master Freddie. These memories will be listed with the best memories of our all our lives. Sea lions floating on the barge's anchor and on the barge is newly mined salt from the sea salt flats. This area has miles of salt flats where salt is gathered. (remember by clicking on the photo the picture will get bigger) A Freddie quote... "The heart cannot feel what the eyes have not seen"
Pretty landscape at the camp ground and our neighbors tonight are Mike and Lori with Raisen the dog.
