And so it begins….with the Cracker Barrel over night stay including breakfast.   And the every trip, thunder storm.

Very strong winds with this storm. Enough that we pulled off into the tourist info center and hid next to a large truck!    Border crossing was uneventful and took about 2 minutes, if that.  We made it to Calgary with 1900 miles plus with 2300 to go. 🤭

I am going to try post more often and smaller posts. My new iPad doesn’t seem to like our web site and is making the posting extremely difficult. Hoping I can figure this out to make it easier. Right now half the pictures are here and in a form that was not chosen by me. 🥴

Our first camp site was in Calgary, AB. Canada. Below is a Google location sharing of our friends, Wendy and Bill, we are meeting in Banff.  Their location is marked with a W and ours a blue dot. They started their drive from San Diego, where they call home.   We will meet them on the 6th of June.

Below are a few interesting things we have seen so far. The geological center of North America was fun to stand by the monument and think about.
Montana is truly flooding. This poor town has every inch of their Main Street, East to West, under mucky construction. Later that afternoon we drove through part of US 2 that was closed earlier,  because the railroad tracks flooded and rail road ties were floating down the road.  Wishing I had pictures, the area was devastated.

Given that Bad Bob is sitting outside, not NEARLY as many mosquitoes as when I drove my VW pop top to Prince Rupert to catch the Alaska Ferry to Skagway in July 1974 . . . the Alcan is probably all paved by now . . . with lines on it?

    About  Us

After my husbands widow maker heart attack in 2004, the doctor said just relax and enjoy life for a while. So it happened: the 43' NewMar Mountain Aire coach was purchased and the house sold....eventually. Relaxing? Not always! We are truly blessed to spend this time together... and with friends.
