Todays agenda was to find the Southern Right Whale. This particular whale swims up from Antartica to mate and birth in the warmer bay. It received it's name of the "Right" Whale because it was the correct or right whale to kill. They swim slow, swim close to shore and float on top of the water when they die. Not so nice, but now they are protected and the numbers of these whales are slowly increasing. We were supposed to see the great white sharks but the number of these has dramatically decreased and the sharks have possibly relocated them selves for unknown reasons, as of yet. We saw the shark viewing boat with the cages in the water that were filled with people. The water was extremely cold, burr.
It was a super beautiful day to float out in a boat. The car ride to the boat was about 2 1/2 hour. We drove past more of the Shanty sheds. Cape town has provided some of these with electric power.

For better viewing of this day go to www.whalewatchsa.com This day is called Tons and tons of whales on Spring Day,01 September 2018 Dyer Island Cruises. one of their pictures are really clear of the female on her back. They told me they may put the drone footage of the mating on the site later. They also had a camera on a stick in the water.
Must be cold waiting for the sharks. Yikes this is not for me.
