While we were in Fort Clark we meet a charming couple; who are Frankie and Joe from Fort Davis, TX.  They invited us to their beautiful ranch in Fort Davis for as long as we wanted to stay.  The following pictures are all taken on the ranch. Frankie's sister Jennifer was staying the winter with them too.

In the past couple of years three area ranchers started to trap the mountain lions because they were killing too many of their cattle. They trapped 18 of them the trap is pictured on the right. Prong horn picture below.

Their drive was 3 miles long and lets just say a little bumpy. The gate was tight :)...and those dead thorny bushes do scratch the sides of trailers! Beware!!!

We took the Razor out and the Jeep up the mountain to go hiking.  Found some interesting things.

There was a cave with the same type of ancient paintings as the Seminole Canyon had.

We ended our stay here going to Marfa,TX for dinner at the El Paisano Hotel.  On the way there we saw three Aoudads walking in the grasses next to the drive way. The movie stars from the movie Giant stayed here years ago and there were many pictures on the walls of their stay.

This restaurant is very good; when in Marfa eat here!

have spent time in Ft Davis. Went to Star show at observatory. Son Tim took me in to see the lobby of the hotel in Marfa. Love that country! Enjoy your trip. What's next?

    About  Us

After my husbands widow maker heart attack in 2004, the doctor said just relax and enjoy life for a while. So it happened: the 43' NewMar Mountain Aire coach was purchased and the house sold....eventually. Relaxing? Not always! We are truly blessed to spend this time together... and with friends.
