Watson Lake sign forest is always an interesting stop. Started years ago during the construction of the Alaska HWY…details coming… this little wood sign is the sign we made to attach to the posts in the forest. Burned the letters in and painted it with sign paint and sign sealer so hopefully will last a few years.
The entire road for miles had these pretty purple wild flowers.
Well we have choices, camp in the rain or drive further from White horse to Dawson City (369 miles) We chose to drive a little further…horrific drive with lots of pot holes and construction. The muscles in my arm pits are still sore 2 days after from maneuvering the rough road. Ending at a beautiful Provincial Park, not realizing the hiss type sound we heard was the slit in our tire, we acquired and thus a flat tire in the morning. So after slowly driving to the tiny Airport 1/2 mile down the road in the morning, we found to have cell service. We contacted our new road service plan and they ordered AJ to come fix it. He had to drive from White horse (369 miles) which is normally a 7 hour and 45 minute drive under normal conditions. Leaving at 1:30 in the afternoon he arrived with our new tire at 10:30 pm. Bless his heart ❤️ Remember AJ towing Service fro Whitehorse, Yukon, is the best! Our new home where we parked it was under the NAPA sign for 24+ hours…super hot and dusty, choke, choke 🤧.
